Live Oak Farms

Since 1929, the Giampaoli Family has farmed the rich soil of the San Joaquin Valley. What began as a modest tomato growing and packing operation under a Live Oak tree in Merced County, California is today a diversified farming operation that’s committed to excellence in all we do. Long before “sustainability” was trending, the family sought to improve the land for future. Now a fourth generation family farm, Live Oak Farms grows fresh tomatoes, peppers, almonds, and a host of other crops in California’s San Joaquin Valley and Santa Clara County.

Sustainability

Much of the land farmed today by the Giampaoli Family is that of the original farming operation. Our commitment to sustainable farming isn’t new. It’s something we’ve done for decades. We know that our resources are limited and are to be protected. That’s why we’ve taken a leadership role in the development of programs that conserve water through drip irrigation, improve soil heath, and reduce pesticide use through the use of integrated pest management that seeks to maintain the natural population of good bugs that keep our fields healthy. And, our commitment to sustainable farming isn’t limited to the field – we’re invested in our employees and our local community to ensure that our work environment is one that’s based upon a respect for the employee, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

“Ten years ago we worked with other farmers, customers, and trade associations to develop the first ever mandatory food safety program for fresh tomatoes.  We were leaders then, and are still today.  But, I’m also a mom and know that it’s confusing for parents as to what’s safe.  I’m not selling any vegetable that I don’t feed to my own children.”
